We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Generative AI and Visual Computing research. In our team, the use of Generative AI in the creation of multimedia content is waiting for you, such as sound, images, and video, including data from the car's interior and exterior cameras for both in-car use and social media platforms. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of our research platform, which supports cross-functional teams.

What awaits you?

• Developing tools and solutions for capturing, enhancing and editing high-quality images and videos for in-car usage and social media sharing.
• Applying advanced generative AI techniques for image enhancement, including upscaling, noise reduction, inpainting, object removal, etc.
• Leveraging Machine Learning and GenAI technologies in video editing processes such as cutting, merging, and creating engaging short video content from captured footages.
• Engaging in core development activities using Python, incorporating LLM libraries to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve the VLM-based in-car assistant platform using multiple programming languages and frameworks, while implementing robust CI/CD practices. 

What should you bring along?

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, with a strong background in Computer Vision.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning and multimedia processing libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, FFmpeg, etc.).
• Experience in AI-driven image and video enhancement techniques (e.g., super-resolution, inpainting, object removal).
• Experience in designing and implementing generative AI solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for application deployment and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of social media APIs and experience in developing engaging content is a plus.
• Strong English skills; German is a plus.
